The MWC Barcelona social media playbook: 9 easy video templates you can steal

MWC Barcelona videos

MWC Barcelona is always a grand adventure. And like all great adventures you can get swept up in the whirlwind of meetings and discussions and forget to whip your phone out to film content. And yet, this event is a rare opportunity to highlight your brand’s personality and team, and make attendees want to come and meet you!

To help you stay on top of your social media game, we’ve compiled nine social media video ideas you can plan and replicate effortlessly.

Fair warning: To make these work, you’ll need to shed a little of your B2B corporate façade and embrace a more human, engaging approach. Ready? Let’s go!

1. What’s in my bag? Trade show edition

This popular trend will help establish your brand identity and style while adding a playful touch to your MWC social content.

Inspiration:

How to create it:

Either take multiple pictures, first of your bag then different items, like the examples above, or you could film yourself emptying your bag and explaining the meaning behind each object.

2. Anticipating MWC video: The Big Reveal

This is a fun take on the college acceptance videos that were doing the rounds a while back. It showcases your team members while promoting your participation at MWC. Share it a few days before MWC to build anticipation.

Inspiration:

How to create it:

Gather a few colleagues around a table and film them as if from the point of view of a computer. Have everyone look worried yet hopeful then give a signal for elation. When editing the footage, add a low-stakes tagline such as “MWC tickets have been validated” or “Successfully checked into our flight to Barcelona”.

Template for copy to accompany your visuals:

For a moment there we got worried 😅. As you can see, we’re all set to be at MWC Barcelona 3-6 March 2025! Come and say hi at Stand XX in Hall XX. #MWCBarcelona

3. POV: You’ve walked into MWC Barcelona

This is another easy video to film: it’s quick, engaging, and showcases where you’re situated. Share this on Day 1 of MWC Barcelona.

4. Everybody screams “MWC”!

A light-hearted team challenge with a fun visual effect. This will definitely make you stand out from your competitors.

Inspiration:

How to create it:

  • Have one colleague hold their hands closed near the camera.
  • When the sound cues “scream,” they open their hands to reveal another teammate behind them.
  • Bonus points for hiding multiple colleagues or incorporating branded merch!

5. Film how everyone arrives at MWC

A simple way to introduce your team while highlighting the buzz of the event.

Inspiration:

How to create it:

Film each member of your team as they arrive at the booth that morning, then edit it all together using timestamps. Give your team fair warning so they look chirpy! And if anyone is feeling shy you can do what we did and disguise them with an emoji.

6. What does your company do?

We bet there’s plenty of misconceptions about your company, so it’s time to set the record straight. Get your team to explain as simply as possible what you stand for.

For example, people always think Dassault Systèmes make planes (spoiler: they don’t), so they created the video below to clear up confusion.

7. Some (small) dancing required

MWC isn’t the place to launch full blown choreographies (or is it?) but you could film some easier light choreographies. The “wait” trend is a very easy one to replicate and could be used to promote a special offer or event taking place during MWC.

Inspiration:

How to create it:

Have one or more of your colleagues do the choreography in front of your stand. Depending on what you’re promoting, they could hold a relevant object in their hands, such as a freebie, or glass of champagne.

8. The struggle is real (of filming at MWC)

A funny, relatable video showing the chaos of trying to get team members on camera.

How to create it:

Depending on how game your colleagues are, you can film them avoiding you in increasingly creative ways, or you can play multiple roles impersonating each of them, as SEMrush does in the example above.

9. MWC recap video

This is the perfect video to end MWC on a high note! It’s all about showcasing the last few days, so make sure you collect plenty of footage throughout the event.

Inspiration:

How to create it:

Collate your footage and add a voiceover to share the highlights of the event.
